The heart behind Hello Mr Jenkins. 

Every person has a story. Every celebration deserves to be remembered.

Some people pour drinks.

Some people tell stories.

Juliana does both... usually with a cocktail shaker in one hand and a camera nearby. 🍸📷

Born in Darwin, Juliana's love of hospitality began before she could properly walk. Her parents owned the Blood Shot Eye Café, where barefoot hippies, colourful characters, travellers and locals gathered over coffee and conversation. Somewhere amongst the café chatter, she learnt that the best memories are made when people simply spend time together.

Hospitality wasn't something Juliana studied.

It's something she's lived.

Over the past forty years she's worked behind bars, in cafés, restaurants, pubs, race clubs and event venues, wearing many hats along the way. Publican. Restaurant owner. Café operator. Retailer. Artist. Teacher. Photographer. Storyteller.

Every chapter taught her one thing.

People rarely remember every drink they had. They always remember how they felt.

Throughout her career Juliana has owned and managed some well-known Queensland venues, including Outback Jack's Steakhouse, The Courtyard Café in Mudgeeraba and the iconic Queensland Hotel at Coolangatta, affectionately known by many as The Patch Hotel. She also managed the legendary Rusty Pelican in Surfers Paradise during the years when the Gold Coast danced until sunrise.

In 2012 she launched Canterbury Blue, her own furniture paint range, spending the next twelve years teaching thousands of Australians how to restore old furniture and uncover the beauty hidden beneath the surface.

Today, alongside Storyteller Photography, her greatest joy is welcoming people into the world of Hello Mr Jenkins.

Then there are the horses. 🐎

As the daughter of lifelong racing enthusiast Paul, Juliana grew up at the track before dawn, stopwatch in hand, learning that the best stories often begin long before the crowd arrives. Those mornings taught her about community, patience and celebrating every win, big or small.

Creativity runs in the family too.

Her mum Kay once worked as a trapeze artist, magician's assistant and contortionist with the circus before becoming an incredibly talented furniture restorer.

Yes... the circus. 🎪

In fact, Juliana's very first job was travelling with Sole Brothers Circus.

Looking back, it probably explains why she still loves bringing people together and making them smile.

Only these days she does it from behind a beautifully restored 1952 Bondwood caravan named after its original owner, Mr Jenkins.

Whether she's shaking frozen margaritas at a wedding, pouring champagne at a corporate event or serving a cold beer at the end of a long day, you'll often find Juliana chatting with your grandparents, laughing with your friends, listening to family stories and making sure everyone feels like they're exactly where they're meant to be.

Because that's what Hello Mr Jenkins has always been about.

Not just drinks.

Not just cocktails.

People.

A proud mum of three, grandmother, photographer, horse lover and collector of old treasures, Juliana believes the best celebrations happen when people slow down, laugh a little louder and take the time to connect.
